Although it was founded in 2006, Adams Harris traces it roots back to a moment 11 years earlier, when Adams Street Partners, a Chicago-based venture capital firm, agreed to help a young entrepreneur named Mike Harris form a company called Audit Force––later to be re-branded as Jefferson Wells.

At the helm of Jefferson Wells International, Harris not only realized his vision of providing supplementary accounting and internal auditing staff to blue-chip companies, but also grew his business into a nationally known firm with an outstanding reputation. Harris and his investors sold Jefferson Wells to Manpower in 2001.

Today, he has come together with Rob Dennison, a former key executive from Jefferson Wells, to form Adams Harris. Backed once again by Adams Street Partners, Harris and Dennison are committed to expanding in 25 U.S. markets over the next five years.
